Itinerary:

  • The Douro River is connected by six magnificent bridges that link its two banks. Embark on the Six Bridges Cruise to explore these architectural wonders – Luís I, Infante, Dona Maria, S. João, Arrábida, and Freixo – ranging from the oldest to the most modern. As you enjoy the cruise, take in stunning views of Porto's key landmarks, including the Ribeira Historic Area, S. Francisco Church, Stock Exchange Palace, Porto Customs House (Alfândega), Port Wine Museum, Massarelos Church, Arrábida Bridge, Foz do Douro, and Afurada.
  • The Ponte Dom Luís I is an iconic symbol of Porto and a masterpiece of 19th-century engineering. Spanning the Douro River, it connects Porto on the northern bank with Vila Nova de Gaia on the southern bank. Designed by German architect Théophile Seyrig (1843-1923), a student and business partner of Alexandre Gustave Eiffel (famous for the Eiffel Tower), the bridge held the world record for the longest metal span when it was completed in 1886. Initially intended for road traffic, today its upper deck carries Porto’s Metro Line D and a pedestrian walkway, while the lower deck accommodates road traffic and pedestrians—perfect for those unafraid of heights!
